Locatoin
The Algonquin people lived in the southern part of Quebec. They also lived in the eastern part of Ontario in Canada. Today they live in communities in Quebec and Ontario.The Algonquin people also live in other community in Virginia, the Rocky Mountains and north of Hudson Bay. The nine Algonquin bands in Quebec and one in Ontario have a combined population of about 11,000. There have been multiple places named after the Algonquin people,some of which are: Lake Algonquin which was made from the last ice age.It now forms part of
Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay.There is also Algonquin College which is in Ottawa,Ontario.On top of those two,there is also Algonquin Provincial Park which is located between the Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River.There is also Algonquin Island which is one of the Toronto Islands.Finally there is South Algonquin,Ontario which is a township which was founded in October of 1961.As you can see,the Algonquian's were not a tribe that was forgotten.They have made a name for themselves and it was not forgotten.
